The Immaculate Collection appears on just one chart in America at the moment. This week, the compilation rises to an important position — one it has seen before.
This frame, The Immaculate Collection jumps from No. 10 to No. 8 on the Top Dance Albums chart. That holds as the title’s all-time peak, which it reached not long ago. Madonna’s greatest hits set, which features many of the singles that made her a household name in the ’80s and ’90s, first reached No. 8 this past January. Now, it’s back and as big as ever.
On the chart dated February 25, 2025, Madonna’s project climbed to that position, which has turned out to be something of a ceiling for the release. Amazingly, The Immaculate Collection only reached the Top Dance Albums chart a week prior, despite its age.
Billboard recently reshuffled some of its electronic and dance tallies, removing the word “electronic” from a few. This altered where some projects landed and helped a number of popular full-lengths debut.
Though it’s almost three and a half decades old, The Immaculate Collection is still relatively new to the Top Dance Albums chart. The compilation has only spent eight weeks on the list, yet it already ranks among Madonna’s longest-running wins. With just eight frames spent on the tally that displays the most-consumed dance albums in the United States, The Immaculate Collection ranks as Madonna’s third-longest charting success story. It comes in behind Confessions on a Dance Floor (102 frames) and MDNA (38 stints).
Not long ago, The Immaculate Collection passed Finally Enough Love, one of Madonna’s most recent offerings. That popular compilation racked up just five turns on the tally.
Nine of Madonna’s works have hit the Top Dance Albums chart, and six have cracked the top 10, including The Immaculate Collection. Just three—Confessions on a Dance Floor, MDNA, and Finally Enough Love—have conquered the roster.
